In response, multiple provinces in China have introduced policies aimed at advancing data intellectual property (IP) registration and protection.
In 2023, Hyperchain Technology partnered with the Zhejiang Intellectual Property Administration to launch China’s first all-in-one data IP registration platform—the Zhejiang Data Intellectual Property Registration Platform. This platform enables the registration and certification of original designs, data assets, and trade secrets, allowing applicants to utilize blockchain-based proof of ownership and notarized data preservation.
Once registered, users receive an official IP registration certificate, which serves as a recognized credential for data transactions, revenue distribution, and rights protection. The platform also incorporates pre-registration public disclosure, post-registration revocation mechanisms, and a tiered classification system, which clarifies data ownership and incentivizes innovation in data utilization.
As of February 2024, the platform has processed 10,577 registration applications, issued 5,861 official certificates, and safeguarded nearly 300 million data rights, playing a pivotal role in data assetization and secure data circulation.
